Change in Registered Office
R egistered office of the company is the official address of the company where any communication relating to the company is sent. As it is the public record therefore different Government Departments and other organisations uses the same record to communicate with the Company.
Notice of every change of the situation of the registered office, after the date of incorporation of the company, shall be given to the Registrar within thirty days of the change, who shall record the same.
Non Compliance of these provisions lead to hefty fine on the company and in some cases Directors may be personally liable for such non compliances.

Types of Changes of Registered Office
The provisions relating to shifting of registered office can be divided into the following four categories:
1. Within the local limits of same city, town or village (Eg: From Malviya Nagar to Dwarka within the state of Delhi)
2. Outside the local limits of same city, town or village, but within the same state and same ROC (Eg: From Ease Delhi to South Delhi within the same state)
3. Within the state but outside the jurisdiction of same ROC (Eg: From Pune to Mumbai within the same state of Maharashtra as there are two ROCs within the state of Maharashtra only i.e. ROC Mumbai and ROC Pune)
4. Outside the state and outside the jurisdiction of same ROC (Eg: From Delhi to Mumbai)
